Oct. 29, 2013 3:30 PM. This is our monthly scheduled visit at the Cliff’s in West Orange, NJ. 30 residents, Dawn and staff from Activities, Lenny DeGuzman (Administrator and a friend), Venus (Nursing Supervisor and a friend), and other staff present during the worship songs and preaching. 40 “We Have Been Blessed” Gospel Tracts distributed to residents, visitors, and staff.
Pastor Chandra preached on the Parable of the Lost Coin
Luke 15:8-10 Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it? And when she hath found it, she calleth her friends and her neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost. Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth. The Guan Family (Barbara and her 2 children Faith and Ethan) and Shalin, friends from church, joined us as we ministered and fellowshipped with the residents. Faith beautifully played “I Surrender All” on the piano.
A 97 year old resident of the Cliff was sharing her background and her family story with me. As we get to know each other better, an opportunity came up to tell her how the Lord blessed us through the tragedy in 2010. I asked her a question that was asked to me in 1996 that changed my life: “Do you know where you are going when you die?”. She answered “I hope I go to heaven.” I explained to her how she could know for sure how to go to heaven by giving her Scriptures that explains the plan of salvation.. At the end of our conversation, she trusted Jesus to be her Lord and Savior!
Romans 13:11-14 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. [whohit]CLIFFOCT[/whohit]
